Mainframe Computer

MainframeComputers are BigIron machines that, until recently, required dedicated onsite operators and systems programmers. There are not too many of these companies left, as MicrosoftCorporation has been successful in marketing programs aimed at getting companies to downsize their computing platform.

One of the notable companies that still sell MainframeComputers is BigBlue.


MicrosoftWay

The Redmond firm was assisted by Fujitsu and MicroFocus, a company that used to specialize in CobolLanguage on PCs. Migrated applications would still be running CobolLanguage applications under Windows.
