Stu Baurmann

I, StuBaurmann love Wiki. I have needed Wiki my whole life. I now feel that just about everything is going to be OK.

I would like to add mine to the chorus of ThankYous.

I have some ideas to contribute about SoftwarePatterns. That's what this Wiki is for, as I understand it so far. So, I'll confine my contributions to this Wiki to submissions in that field. If I need to do experiments, I'll do them in the WikiWikiSandbox. Everything will be OK.

Recently I did an experiment by creating some drivel in this Wiki. That was villainous behaviour and a BadThing. I figured that out eventually thanks to a few gentle hints! This community rocks.

Then I went and deleted that content, which was probably good, but I should have supplied at least one LogCommentPattern matching object bound to the deletion edits. If I had originally performed my test in the WikiWikiSandbox like a good WikiCitizen, this comment would not have been required. Okay, I'm learning. :)

In 1997-98, I did a lot of work on a public opinion database called the PolliteLens. It captures many of the same ideas as Wiki, such as web collaboration and reverse searches. However, it has a different set of goals and requirements from Wiki. Now I am thinking about how to combine the Lens schemas and technology with the Wiki environment. I think this will result in a GoodThing.

I have also created a home page on the MeatballWiki. To give you an EXPLICIT link to it, I have to write: http://www.usemod.com/cgi-bin/mb.pl?StuBaurmann
