Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and Wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.

It is said that this prayer was written by Reinhold Niebuhr. -- RenZai

“Gib mir Gelassenheit, Dinge hinzunehmen, die ich nicht ändern kann, Den Mut, Dinge zu ändern, die ich ändern kann, und die Weisheit, das eine vom andern zu untersheiden.”

The above is said to be an older version which R Niebuhr quoted.

Homer 's version:

God, grant me the apathy to accept the things I cannot change, laziness so I won't change the things that I can, and wisdom to know....Mmm, donuts!

(That's HomerSimpson, not the dead Greek guy...)
