Linkoping Sweden

I think it's pronounced LEEN-shopping, but a native Swedish speaker might like to correct me on that. Googling suggests LINsherping.

I usually hear something between the two, something like "L(i|e)hn'-sch(o|e)h-ping" (to abuse both phonetics AND regular expression notation!). Not a native Swedish speaker, but many coworkers hail from there. --ScottVokes

Linkping can be written Linkoeping (for savages) or even Linkping (or Linkbing) if you're Danish or Norwegian.

The usual umlaut ( = = oe) rule applies (being a vowel sound English doesn't really have. Mbius has the same sound, as does schn (shoen).

I've heard it pronounced two different ways, LINshoeping (accent first syllable) and LINshoePing (last syllable slightly accented).
