Information Society

Information Society is a term being used to describe a community where InformationAndCommunicationServices? (ICS) - that is services based on the use of InformationAndCommunicationTechnologies? (ICT) - are used pervasively at home, work and play.

Many countries are exploring the impacts and opportunities that ICS offer. PeterMurchland is interested in the planning work associated with identifying and pursuing the opportunities ICS offers businesses, citizens and governments, and with identifying and addressing the impacts of ICS on businesses, citizens and governments.

The concept of 'knowledge or research parks' is starting to take off here in the USA. There is synergy in having a critical mass and diversity of services in relatively close proximity. Hey it seems to work for fast food! why not high tech? --Denham
