Free Basic

FreeBASIC (http://www.freebasic.net/) is the OpenSource BasicLanguage front end to the GnuCompilerCollection, mostly compatible with MS QuickBasic.

Simple and compiled, it does quite well on the GreatComputerLanguageShootout.
