Alternatives To Xp

I have gone to a few local Agile group meetings. These had been useful and ExtremeProgramming was promoted in one or more of such gatherings.

The question I have in my mind though, what methodology are the shops w DotNet and / or JavaTwoEnterpriseEdition doing?

I would be most interested in stories from shops in transition, from BigIron development to ServiceOrientedArchitecture development. What do they do? Hire new batch of people and get rid of existing people with legacy application experience?
