What FriedrichNietzsche viewed as the underlying psychological motivation behind all actions people take.

Basically, in this context power means something different than the normal meaning, and can be used to describe acting creative and proactivly making choices, as well as influence over people. Contrary to popular opinion this does not advocate fighting for control at all costs, but rather claims that people are only satisfied when they are in control of their own lives.
