Walter Shewhart

Walter Shewhart (1891-1967) is widely considered the father (or grandfather) of StatisticalQualityControl? for his work at BellLabs on statistical tools to determine when acting to correct a process is efficient. He is best know for the ShewhartCycle and ControlCharts.

Author of Economic Control of Quality of Manufactured Product (1931) and Statistical Method from the Viewpoint of Quality Control, (1939)
