Proven performance on multiple OS platforms

I tried this tool, mainly with C++, at a former employer for about 6 months about 3 years ago, but experienced little joy. The trouble was it didn't understand scoped typedefs or several forms of templates common to StlStyle. I think Together does a fair job with Java, but with C++ the best of the UmlCaseVultures I've found - also tried Rose, STP, PlatinumParadigmPlus?, and a few others not even worth mentioning - was GdPro. Still GdPro is not what I'd call a good tool. Barely adequate really.

MartinFowler, when pressed at XpTwoThousand, said the only tool he uses is Visio plus free UML modules from <a member of the audience. Anyone remember who? Can give a URL?>.

I don't think this is relevant anymore. The Microsoft Visio (latest) has outstanding UML support that is better than this stuff. -- sg

But of course Together may be just the thing for your particular coding style, and different folk are looking for different things. I have heard many developers say wonderful things about Together, which was why I tried it. HorsesForCourses again, no doubt. -- PeterMerel

I agree. I meant the website tool may not be relevant for Visio anymore. Certainly Together is a much better tool than Visio's UML support. -- sg

Thanks for keeping me honest. Actually, all this great stuff is for Java only. I have been beating up the team and PeterCoad personally (I am a beta tester and have an NDA) going as far to say that the C++ side "sucks." There needs to be ComponentObjectModel IDL support too. They had it and they dropped it. They just won't listen. They're all caught up in that Java thing. -- sg

One of my requests was for them to word wrap the text in the comment/note boxes. Nobody there could see any value in such a thing. -- JimRussell
