A Google search on "text formatting" first introduced me to the Wiki, back in 2001. I found this to be a fascinating place and learned a lot. Wiki introduced me to DesignPatterns, ReFactoring and ExtremeProgramming and has triggered a lot of my current interest in these topics. What a place! Thanks to all contributors for many insights.

I haven't yet contributed anything because writing PlainEnglish gives me headaches.
