Rice University

A private university located in Houston, Texas. Historically a strong engineering school, it has quite good programs in the liberal arts as well. One of the world's leading DigitalSignalProcessing research institutions. Undergraduate enrollment is around 2700, with about 1400 graduate students.

They put out PltScheme (including DrScheme and MzScheme), an implementation of the SchemeLanguage, and also DrJava, a RapidApplicationDevelopment tool for students of the JavaLanguage.
