The RealTime for JavaLanguage Expert Group (RTJEG), convened under the JavaCommunityProcess and JSR-000001, has been tasked with the responsibility to produce a specification for extending the JavaLanguageSpecification, the JavaVirtualMachine Specification, and provide an ApplicationProgrammingInterface, that will enable the creation, verification, analysis, execution, and management of Java threads whose correctness conditions include timeliness constraints (also known as real-time threads).
