History requires historians. E.g. The GreekHistorians?: Heroditus, Thucydides, Xenophon, ... The RomanHistorians?: Caesar, Livy, .... and the EnglishHistorians?: Hume, Robertson...

Modern history doesn't draw exclusively off such sources, though.
