A WikiForum for you to articulate what you want to see in the world.
PeacefulFuture is dedicated to crafting an inspiring and practical vision for a peaceful world, and identifying a path to get there. It is the synthesis of countless individuals' passion, talent, insight, ideals, experience, and knowledge. Both organic and professional, PeacefulFuture is designed to RethinkTheThinkTank?, injecting more voices into the sheltered realm of United States foreign policy-making, to strengthen policy with collective wisdom, values, and creativity. Our hope is to someday incorporate an organization to promote the collective plan for peace that evolves here.

Respect for the rights of others is peace.
Peace, order, prosperity, all demand obedience to authority.
Isaiah 32:17 “And the result of righteousness will be peace, and the reward of righteousness: undisturbed security forever.”
The communists proclaim peace, but actually they are bringing war. Peace is a disguise, since selfishness is embedded in it.
The Dutch philosopher Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677) defined peace as "not an absence of war; it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice."
“Destruction and misery are in their ways: and the way of peace have they not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:16-18).

The basic attitude of irreverence and even contempt for the will and authority of God is a prevalent characteristic among people of every station in life today. In our “enlightened age”, men no longer fear to do wrong.

When Douglas MacArthur? was relieved of his command in Korea and ordered to return to this country by former President Truman, General MacArthur? made a historic address before the assembled Congress of the United States.
He said: “I know war as few other men now living know it, and nothing to me is more revolting ...Men since the beginning of time have sought peace ... Military alliances, balances of power, Leagues of Nations, all in turn failed, leaving the only path to be by way of the crucible of war. The utter destructiveness of war now blocks this alternative. We have had our last chance. If we will not devise some greater and more equitable system, our Armageddon will be at our door. The problem basically is theological and involves a spirit of recrudescence [to become active again after a dormant period] and improvement of human character that will synchronize with our almost matchless advances in science, art, literature and all the material and cultural developments of the past 2000 years.”
“It must be of the spirit if we are to save the flesh.”
