Network Access Protection

NetworkAccessProtection (NAP) is a security framework from MicrosoftCorporation. NAP was widely publizied in July04 (see http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2004/jul04/07-13NapSupportPR.asp) as a partnering scheme for security vendors to deliver solutions for EnterpriseApplications.

As at beginning 2005 NAP addons are made available for WindowsServerTwoThousandThree SP1. The architecture is targeted for full implementation within WindowsLonghorn.

Following statement taken from MS material at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/napoverview.mspx Network Access Protection (NAP) provides a new architecture to restrict the access of computers until their health can be verified.
