Mechanic Syndrome

MechanicSyndrome is a general term for the tendency of a hardware or software problem to mysteriously disappear when attempting to demonstrate it to an expert. It has its origins in automobiles and factory equipment, and migrated naturally to electronic devices.

Related, but specific to software, is the HeisenBug. The antonym in general is DemoSyndrome.
