Master Plan

A MasterPlan is a specification (or, a specification is a MasterPlan). It specifies the structure of a system before it is built. It presumes to foresee and overcome all design challenges.

Alexander admonishes us that MasterPlans rarely work, and that we should instead design using PiecemealGrowth.
