Altitude does not alter latitude or longitude. It's a third variable.

Latitude - (ala Jimmy Buffet "changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes..") a horizontal coordinate drawn from the equator at zero derees, moving incrementally northward and southward.

Longitude - vertically, ( for example, when starting from North America) increases as you move westward.

There are several ways to format it, the most common is degree / minutes / seconds. There are sixty minutes between degrees.
