Larry Constantine

LarryConstantine, ACM Fellow, Professor of Computer Science, University of Madeira, Portugal and is an internationally recognized consultant on the human side of computer technology. One of the pioneers of software and applications development methodology, he has made contributions in the human sciences as well as the computing sciences. A graduate of the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Constantine has published more than a hundred papers and eight books in several fields, including the software engineering classic, StructuredDesign?, written with EdYourdon, and, most recently, ConstantineOnPeopleware (Prentice Hall, 1995), based on his popular column in SoftwareDevelopment. His current research and consulting interests include software usability and the role of work culture in high-performance technical teamwork and organizational change. In addition to his academic work, he is Principal Consultant with the international consulting firm of Constantine & Lockwood, Ltd.
