Iolanda Staniloiu

Iolanda Staniloiu is a Romanian communication practitioner. She started as television journalist in March 1990 as editor, producer and anchor of Romanian public television, focusing on economic and financial issues. In 1991, she is appointed Spokesperson of Romanian Government led by Prime Minister Theodor Stolojan. In 1992, she becomes a member of the National Audiovisual Council - regulatory agency of emerging broadcasting and cable market, set up same year. Between 1993-1994, as a Hubert H Humphrey Fellow, studies marketing and communication at Syracuse University, NY and works for the IMF, Washington DC, as an intern with the Departament od Public Information Dissemination. On returning back to Romania, she becomes founding member and executive director of the Center for Independent Journalism (CJI), local subsidiary of the Independent Journalism Foundation (IJF), American not-for-profit organization having as mission to provide professional training and to promote journalists rights in Central and Eastern European countries. Between 1996-1998, works for ProTV - main Romanian commercial TV station, as host and producer of several political talk-shows. Between 1999-2000, becomes chairman and CEO of Dynamic Network Technologies (DNT), a national internet provider. Between 2001-2004, works for the Rompetrol Group - largest private oil company in Romania at that time, as Vice President for Corporate Communication and Public Affairs. In 2008, Iolanda Staniloiu is appointed as Corporate Communication Director for EFG Eurobank's Romanian subsidiary Bancpost. Between 2008-2010, she is External Affairs Officer for the World Bank Office in Romania. Between 2011-2011, she continues her work with the World Bank as a consultant, completing 3 projects, among which a book on the 20 years work of the World Bank in Romania. In 2011, Iolanda Staniloiu resumes her television career, as a moderator of +Politica show for the public television TVR Info, and in 2012 she is a guest in political shows of Realitatea TV and B1TV. Since 1993 up till present, works as independent consultant for various research projects, training, public information campaigns, for organizations such as: The Independent Journalism Foundation, NY, USA; Prof. Peter Gross, Chico University, USA; New York Times, USA; Media Pro Group; National Commission for Academic Acreditation; Soros Foundation for an Open Society; Foundation for Pluralism; Liberal National Party; the World Bank; Realitatea TV.
