Hopping Around Wiki

A problem sometimes arises. I'll be browsing Wiki, seeing if anything new (e.g. something I don't remember) is floating around and --bam-- I'll realize that to get where I think I want to go, I'll have to click the back button three time and then browse around to find a link. See TabbedBrowsing for a cure of this disease.

Or, I'll be wondering: Does X have a page ?

The solution: use http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?X (where X is appropriately wiki-ized). For example, you can find my wiki-page by clicking around, getting to the recent visitors, scrolling around until you find my name and then clicking.

Or, you can type http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?WilliamGrosso

I type faster than I click and Wiki makes it really easy to browse by guessing.

The techniques you describe above are definitely cool. Instead of the traditional HubAndSpoke navigational method, you replace it with a kind of personal "AccidentalLinking."

I resort to the FindPage title search if my first random poke doesn't work. The title search is fast and usually returns a usefully small number of hits.
