Half Duplex

A duplex circuit allows communication in both directions simultaneously. A half duplex (why don't they call it simplex?) allows communication in one direction at a time. Most of us spend our time in HalfDuplex mode: transmitting and not receiving.

Because simplex is one way only. HalfDuplex is one way at a time. -- OleAndersen
