Galaxy Quest Chompers

Well, to start with see GalaxyQuest. In it, some of the actors, now translated to a real spaceship, find themselves having to make their way to a particular part of the ship. This ship, however, has been built using the HistoricalDocuments as the design, and in one episode there was a PlotEnablingDevice which has been faithfully reproduced. It apparently achieves no purpose, but now our actors have make their way through these Chompy, Crushy things, all because some hack of a writer needed some excitement in a show and could think of no sensible way to get it.
