Anybody used this? Any insight?

Also used to speak of an object or product that is symbolic or important in some way. For example, the UssEnterprise? is the FlagShip of the UnitedFederationOfPlanets?. My boss used to speak of ElectronicMail being a FlagShip for our enterprise.
