Summary (taking guesses -- it can be difficult to get unambiguous information from slides): Think of a problem, and then brainstorm its causes. Represent the cause/effect relationships as a tree. Due to the tree's FractalNature, you can do calculations recursively (each node sums up its childrens' risk factors, etc.).
