Daniel P. Friedman is a FunctionalProgramming researcher, well known for his work on FirstClassContinuations, concurrency, LazyEvaluation and other things. His 1970's work made him something of a co-inventor of SchemeLanguage (see http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4633168320660258097&hl=en).
Joint author of TheLittleBooks, including TheLittleSchemer (previously known as TheLittleLisper).
His last name is quite often misspelled as Freidman.
