Ad Absurdum

A Latin phrase which means, approximately, "to absurdity."

Context: "It just keeps going around and around, ad absurdum."

Used in reductio ad absurdum - disproof by contradiction, wherein one follows a proposition to conclusions that are known to be false or are patently absurd. (X -> Y. ~Y. therefore ~X.)

Closely related to AdInfinitum? - "to infinity."

Not related to "ArgumentumAdAbsurdum", which is argument by random & intimidating distractions that change the subject in ways that tickle your base. A favorite pastime of demagogues.
